I want to get another sat nav for my wife - I currently have a Garmin i3 - which I'm fairly happy with, but would like any additional unit to have a bigger screen - mainly to help with more advanced help for lane choice for complex, upcoming junctions.
My main interests for an additional unit being:-
1. I'd like the screen size to be larger than that on the i3.
2. The software / unit must be robust - some of the more budget sat navs I've played with, have been rather flaky, to say the least. Perhaps something that has proprietary software, rather than a CE / Palm device actually running some navigation software.
3. Easy to use - and this isn't partonising of my wife's ability - merely that she doesn't have the same geeky gadget obsession that I have - one thing I think the i3 has got right, but the interface (ie jogwheel, rather than touchscreen) may be more cumbersome.
4. Full / 7-digit postcode usage.
5. Ability to load the pocketgpsworld speed camera database, AND other custom POIs.
6. Not bothered about mapping for anything more than the UK, really - Europe would be a bonus, but I can't see any current need, so UK is all that's needed.
7. Ideally, perhaps the ability to provide some customisation to the routes - some (even budget) units allow you to block roads from being used for routes, and save favourite routes. This would be a nice to have, but not mandatory.
8. Budget - ideally somewhere in the range £120-200 - although would stretch to a Tom Tom One, if it's the most suitable.
