TT has notoriously poor coverage of Ireland - major roads and a few cities only.
You cannot really change the road preferences in TT.
You can buy European maps from Tom Tom, but the coverage of Ireland will be no better on those. _________________ Peter

TomTom Bad choice for the Republic of Ireland and likely to remain so
Garmin would be a sensible choice as the mapping is by NAVTEQ.
See comments on this link it may be possible to swap out your TT1 as it will not do the job i think your looking for

Are you sure you can't? I can on my Go300, and I thought the navigation features were the same on all models.
Go to Change Preferences / Planning Preferences. I can either select "Only avoiding Motorways" permanently here, or I normally have set it to "Ask when I plan" and then everytime I set up a navigation, before it works out the route, I get a screen asking to select a route type, one of the options is "Avoid motorways". |
