Hey everyone,
I'm having problems activating my new map.
I've emailed TomTom and have got one reply from them but that didn't really answer or help me out, so have emailed them again tonight, but just wanted to find out if anyone else has had the same problem.
Sorry it's a bit long.
Here's the email I sent.
Hi,
I've bought the latest GB+ Map for my Nokia 9500.
I've been through the activation once and it worked ok.
I then went to use it again and it says this product needs activating?
I went through the process again and now it says it failed?
So I went to ttcode.com to retreive the activation code but having recieved
it, it still wont activate?
My device code is ***** *****
GB+ Product Code is ***** ***** *****
Activation Code is ***** ***** *****
Can you tell me why it isn't working?
I've reset my phone but still it wont activate?

Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Have you in the done any software updates or rom updates. recently on your phone.
Try to hard reset your phone, and re-install mobile 5 on to your phone.

Hi,
I've already tried reinstalling TT5 from scratch including the update to 5.200.
I've also done a soft and hard reset on it.
I've entered the code using spaces and not using spaces.
We used TT5 on Tuesday / Wednesday on a 600 mile round trip to Manchester without any problems.
I only thought about upgrading just prior to our trip as I thought my map was old, but didn't just in case it caused any problems....good job I didn't!
I've not upgraded any programs, software or Firmware on the phone either.
In fact the only thing I have done is upgraded one of your maps.
Like I said it did activate and so I thought all was fine, but when I came to use it again it went through the same process of asking me to activate the map again?
It doesn't work on Manual or Automatic Activation?
Now it's saying:-
"Sorry, this is not the correct activation code for the product 'Great_Britain_Plus"
This is the only code that www.ttcode.com has given me.
So I cannot use TT5 until this is working again.
Please help as I need TT5 working, please send me a new code to get it working.

So I'm now holding my breath and waiting unless I can get it working again.
Do i need the original GB map in there as well?
I deleted it as I thought whats the point of having GB and then GB+ and also Major Roads of Europe when GB+ does both?

Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
With reference to your query regarding the upgrade of the map of Great Britain to your mobile phone, can you advise me as to exactly how you tried to update the map to your phone and also did you copy the original map onto a larger card before upgrading to the newer version as this is a requirement as stated my our website. To see this, please log into the TomTom website using your e-mail address and password and click on map and then map of Great Britain and under section B, is the following paragraph;
"B. Downloading to your computer
From your list of maps (above), select the map you want to download.
Once the file has finished downloading, double-click the file to start the TomTom setup application.
Follow the instructions to install the map on your TomTom.
Now you can disconnect your device from your computer.
Finally, to activate your map, you'll need to enter the product code on www.ttcode.com
If you do not have enough space on your existing memory card, you can install your map on a new, blank memory card. Before you can install your new map onto a new memory card, you must install the TomTom application and at least one voice on your new memory card."

I have a 2Gb MMC which has plenty of space available, approximately 1.2Gb.
I've installed the map as described, never had a problem before not even with the update.
As I said, it has worked but now whats to activate again.
Can you send another code as this is saying its not the right one for GB+?
Why do TomTom support beat around the bush so to speak?
