|
|
Hi all,
I was wondering if others were experiencing the same problems as me and if they could give me some feedback.
I have purchased and installed the Speed cam database from Pocket GPS onto my Nuvi 360.
However when I reach 30mph speed limits, my nuvi warns me, but says (from memory) 17mph limit ahead..
when it's approaching a 40mph speed limit zone, it warns me of a 25 mph limit ahead..??
Can someone explain this behaviour above?
also, can I configure what sound i want to hear, how long it lasts and if I want a sound at all? at the moment it is constantly going off and becomes very annoying.
How does the Speed Cam database work overall?
Thanks in advance,

As for the incorrect warnings make sure your GPS system is set to Statute i.e feet MPH and not metric and also when using the POILoader that you are loading in Statute i.e. feet MPH and you problems will be fixed. |

timber,
Thx for that. I was just noticing that as I was loading some other POIs. I guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall them again.
Did you know about my other question? with regards to configuring warning and sounds etc?
Thanks again

ey up fella! sadly you can't easily change the sound you hear (there is a thread called 'voices' with some utilities for changing the sounds/voice on teh i3 but no one has tried this on any of the nuvi sound files as far as i know) - at the moment it WILL be annoying cos you have the speed set wrong, as for when you upload in mph rather than kmh you will only get a warning when you are over the speed set in the file.

do you mean (1) how well or (2) how does it actually work?
1) works very well! there's only a few mobile sites that i've passed that haven't been in the database - i've been warned of everything else.
2) it's a database of the locations of the speed cameras and their speed. the garmin does not detect the speed camera's, just warns of where known ones are.
