Does anyone have any advice on the best navigation software, for an ipaq, for use in France?
I'm off there this summer and would like to know whether to purchase maps of France for TomTom or whether another package is more suitable for the French addressing system.
We are touring round, hopefully staying in some out of the way places and I've heard that TomTom has difficulty with finding French locations.
All help/comments gratefully received. |

AFAIK TT5 works fine in France, but you will obviously need the French maps _________________ Peter

Over the last two years TT has directed me to some difficult to find camp sites if France. I drove a motorhome to sites in the cities of Lyon and Nancy without a problem. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I've also found TTN5 to be great in France. However, you will get the same problems as in the UK when there is no house number. Mostly in the Hamlets. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Thanks Guys for your advice. I'll stick to TT5 and purchase the France map update. |

I use TomTom5 in France and it works fine - just check the route before following it blindly, it has once or twice tried to take me down unsurfaced farm tracks.
CoPilot 6 can't yet be recommended for France. There are some mapping issues which mean that it can't exit the motorway at certain junctions and consequently produces some crazy routes. I have been promised that replacement CDs are to be issued in 2 to 3 weeks to correct this.....but the first time I received this promise was in March, and I'm still waiting!!
