|
|
Hi all,
I have just paid my £19 subscription and have tried downloading and unzipping the TTG consolidated database with no joy.
I'm running OSX10.4.6 + latest patches etc. The downloaded zip file refuses to expand - error unable to unarchive 'zip filename' into Desktop (Error1 - Operation not permitted).
I've read the various Forum threds and have tried renaming the file to something shorter. Have also tried downloading an updated version of stuffit expander.
I never used to have this trouble with the previous 'free' updates.
Any thoughts? |

ok.... a whole evening's worth of playing around eventually got it working.
For those who may find themselves in a similar position I had to do the following:
1- Download a new version of Stuffit Expander (via the apple site, or google search on stuffit).
2- Having realised that this zip file would no longer automatically expand (hence my original post), I tried 'expanding' the file manually - i.e. opening Stuffit and 'expanding' by selecting the file.
3- Bingo, it worked.
PS - Any chance these files can be downloaded in a SIT or other Mac friendly file in the future?
Yet another '5 minute job' that lasted the best part of 2 hours!!! :D |

I had pretty much the same problem, in the end I could get the file to unzip if I dragged it into the Stuffit window rather than double clicking it. However it only ever found one file; the bmp!
In the end I had to unzip it on a PC and mail it back to myself.
A more Mac friendly version would be great. |

Same here, fortunately I used Stuffit as I'd encountered this before.
Maybe PGPSWorld should add a sticky or text file on their download page to help mac people. |
