Roadmate 300R (eastern) map detail?

I was asking a guy the other day about a roadmate 700 i saw on his dash. He said the 700 series had a complete detail map of the entire united states on it from the factory. I asked him exactly how detailed the maps were and he told me that every single road in any city, was on the unit, such as would be in microsoft streets if you zoomed all the way in. First off is this true? Second off, Im looking at getting a 300R (eastern) series gps. All that walmart.com shows the unit to have it "detailed maps" of the entire eastern US. Well, what is "detailed" Does anyone know if it shows every single city street such as the guy mentioned above said about the 700? Would I be better off buying a 700 series off ebay for about a $100 more than the 300 series? Thanks.
