You download it from the tomtom site and then install it on your PDA. Activate it at ttcode.com and bobs your uncle.
IMO wait until tt6 is released. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Open CheckPOInt, click on About CheckPOInt to read version number. The latest is 5.0.2.0 - you will need this to run with TTN5

Latest version of TTN is 5.2.1 - a free download to update a properly activated version of 5.0.
GB map is 605, GB Plus map is 632.
The version of maps actually supplied is variable to say the least! |

I'm baffled - why did you ask about CheckPOInt in the first place???
To clarify things, CheckPOInt is an add-on which gives warnings when approaching POIs in a more configurable form than the native TomTom warnings. The POIs themselves are downloaded from the PocketGPSWorld site. It's not a case of one being better than the other - one complements the other

Only TomTom really knows, and they are good at playing the numbers game. _________________ Richard

V605 is a GB only map while 632 is a GB plus major routes of Europe. As far as I can see the mapping of GB is the same.
The 632 map is larger (because of the limited coverage of the whole of western europe) and on my AXIM X50V keying in addresses is slow as there are so many additional places throughout europe in the lists.
The Maps of Western Europe product contains both GB and GB Plus maps but I always use the GB only map unless I have a specific need to route outside GB.
Note that if you buy the Maps of Western Europe on CD you do not get versions 605 and 632 you get 562 and 571 despite TomTom and mosts retailers claim of "the latest maps available".
The Plus maps downloadable from TomTom are 632 but I am not sure whether they include the GB only (ie 605) map.
Beware when spending money with TomTom. 605/632 maps ARE more recent than 562/571 (they contain changes to road layouts near where I live) but I wouldnt spend money on them at the moment as the fabled V6 release (described by TomTom as a change to buy updated maps and receive software updates free see the TomTom site here http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=3555 ) will come eventually and should be cheaper. |
