CF satnav card

I was thinking of buying a CF satnav card for my Ipaq 2210 PDA with Tom Tom 5.2 navigator installed and was looking at the reviews in mobile planet and came across this comment " I don't believe TOMTOM 5 supports any compact flash GPS"in answer to this question "I am trying to use the Holux GM-270 CF GPS (the ultra-sensitive version) with TomTom Navigator 5 (4890). My PDA is Dell Axim x51v with Windows Mobile 5.0. TomTom Navigator fails to detect the existence of this GPS.

I am able to found the GPS at COM4 port with the gpsviewer program coming with Holux. However, I am only able to open the GPS device for once with the gpsviewer. If I close it, I can't open it again. I have to power off the PDA in order to open the GPS again with gpsviewer program.

Any idea what's wrong? "

surely this is wrong if not then it has saved me £50 .
