|
|
I now have 24 of my own POI's that I have put onto my 610.
But for some reason I can only have 12 of these POI's active at any time.
This is proving to be annoying as the speed camera downloads are now broken down into different speeds but I am not able to use all of these new files. Is there anything I can do to make all my POI's active ? |

Hi Keith
just for info, I have 15 POI files and can view all of them, Not sure why you only see 12? _________________ Device:TOMTOM START 52 & SNOOPER 3ZERO

Having just re-read your message, can assume that your "own" POI files are correctly formatted? I have the last freebie file from this site, dated Jan, whereby I had to delete text from the first lines, or as Tim reminded me, I can use .asc files that dont require ammendments.
Its just a possibility.

Thanks for coming back to me on this Chas.
I don't think I explained myself properly the first time.
All of my 24 POI's are there but I can only make 12 of them "active" at any one time.So the POI's I leave "active" are my speed cameras but it would be nice to get visual/audible alerts for some of my other POI's.
If you have any ideas Chas any help would be appreciated.
Are you using a Navman 610 too ?
Are all of your 15 POI's "active" ?
Many thanks again

Keith...........hi matey
I do have the 610 and I now have 16 POI`s as one was not activated?
I have`nt found anything to suggest that the 610 is in anyway limited to a set number of files..therefore I reccomend you re-check the POI settings!
Active POIs are custom POIs that are announced when in close proximity. Custom POIs are added from the Smart
Desktop POI Editor.
Using the iCN610 in car or in house if your able to power? try the following.....
1. From the Main Menu, select the Settings option.
2. From the Settings screen, select the Alerts option.
3. From the Alerts screen, select the Active POI option.
The Select Active POI screen will display.
possibly showing something like ........."POI (1-4 of 24)"
Now below the QUERTY keyboard you should see maybe 4 of your POI`s listed. Selecting the PAGE key should show the remainder of your list.
NOTE......each POI should be annotated `(ACTIVE)` so a quick check of the list will prove if all your POI`s are actually active? If they are not........continue with the following..
4. Use the 8-way toggle to select a custom POI. Use the keyboard to
narrow your search if required.
5. Click OK. The POI Activation Settings screen will display.
6. Select the Active check box to activate the POI.
7. Modify the settings as required:
• To enable an audible chime when the POI is in close proximity, select
the Audio Warning check box.
• To enable a visual warning when the POI is in close proximity, select the Visual Warning check box.
• Move the Distance to POI slider to select the distance at which the warnings will activate.
8. Press ESC repeatedly until the Map screen displays.
• If you have made changes to the settings, press OK to accept the Warning dialog box.
Thats it in its basic form! if this does`nt fix-it, then I`m not sure what else to try. I actually hope its just a user error and not a device error which could become expensive.
