:x Routing has changed significantly, and also no longer takes into account the London congestion zone. Planned a journey from Stevenage to Wallington (South London) in the past all TomTom products have routed me down the A1, anticlockwise around the M25 via Heathrow, towards M27 Gatwick, which is correct.

The new GO 910 A1, straight through Central London, no warnings regarding congestion zone even though toll road warnings are enabled.

I suspect the routing problems are now being caused by the map data including SOME road speeds which I think is now being used in the routing algorithms, previous versions probably used road classification instead.

Yes, I've noticed that only some (very few) road speeds are designated, and mostly those that are 70mph. I've only seen one so far that was shown as 30mph.

Your suspicion may be right, but I don't see how the partial road speeds could be used in the route calculations - unless perhaps everything that isn't tagged is assumed to be 70mph.

The only way I would expect to be routed through central London is to select the shortest route.

This morning i went from hadlow down (Uckfield area) to Gatwick, the go is set for the fastest route. It took me down narrow country lanes back to Nutley. My colleague and i have done this trip endless times but we went with the flow and just laughed at the supposed fastest route.
My colleague's comments were "lucky the plane isn't 'til lunchtime"
and " i would be there by now drinking a nice coffee"
Seriously though it was a bit strange.

This worries me as I tow a caravan and I deliberately choose main rds--I'd hate to be taken down narrow country lanes.

Maybe I'll be taking mine back if thats the case

I was going to upgrade in a few days - I think I'll hang fire as it sounds like a few software updates are needed.... not to mention the mount seems to have issues.

Would a software update maybe cure this problem?

I can't think why not - the routing algorithims are part of the software. If the old x00 range got it right there's no reason that changes can't be made to the x10 range to improve things.

I've logged this with TomTom expressing concern, and asking if the original routing can be implemented. I'm not sure what will happen, but instead of the usual, useless response or the status be changed to Research, the update states that it has been pasted to the development team. The log has been closed.

If others are having similar problems please please log these with TomTom they may take notice and fix the problem. I did say may . . .

There is something strange going on. I tried going from home to central London and it did identify it as a toll charge issue. However, if I try the Stevenage - Wallington mentioned then it does not mention it. Are you sure that route is definitely going through the congestion zone rather than skating around its edges? If not, then there really is something screwed.

However, I don't believe the map data is the issue, just the routing algorithm, so it can be fixed with a software update.

Yep shows the congestion charge on my 910 as a toll road. I have also downloaded the congestion zone poi from http://www.griffinnet.co.uk/downloads.htm which you may find of use.
