POI Icons not showing (ASDA, Tesco's etc)

Hello,
I recently purchased an i3 8) , updated all the software from Garmin and added POI's from GarminPOI.co.uk and the speed camera locations from Here.

When I go to Where to? - Food, Hotels and more - Custom points and then say my local tesco's, The unit will navigate me there fine, but does not show the icon on the screen for Tesco's.

It does however show me the speed camera icons when I approach a little too fast 8O (as you'd expect), so I am seeing some of the Icons.

I thought the whole point of the little bitmap file was that it shows you the icon on the screen?

I have checked the directory where I have all my POI's to be uploaded and all the icons are present.

Any ideas?

the icon for a poi will only show if you have set that location as a destination.

have a look around this forum and you will see that this is an issue that many have spoken about, and others are trying to address.
the issue was raised with garmin but dismissed as it would cause the screen to be of no navigational use, due to the possible number of icons.

Thanks for the reply.
That is actually my problem. The POI that I select as my destination does not show up on the map as an Icon. It just shows the checkered flag

is It supposed to change the checkered flag to the Icon?

It'll show as a chequered flag because thats the icon for the destination.

That's a little dissapointing. I was hoping to see the single Icon for the destination POI (Ones that I've loaded in) on the map as I drove to it.
