TT5 and Garmin eTrex

Hey Everyone! :D

I currently have a Garmin eTrex handheld GPS. I am looking to purchase a Palm Tx and TT5. Will my GPS be compatible for using it as the GPS receiver for the Palm running TT5? Any help is appreciated!

Yes it is possible to use an ETrex
I used one occasionally with my Axim X5 running TomTom.
I had to make up a cable using bits bought on the net. I think this was where I got them.

Big problem with the Etrex is that as it has no external aerial socket you have to leave it on top of the dash to get a half decent signal, which in my experience is not easy with the Etrex.
If you can get a cable OK and a good signal it works fine.
Make sure that the Etrex is set to output NMEA rather than Garmin protocol.
Bit messy but it should work.
