Hi there,
I have installed a copy of my dads Tomtom 5 onto my ipaqhx4700 so I can try it before spending £50 in an update for my AA Navigator.
It seems to install fine and I can set my preferences etc. The problem I have is that when 'live' directing me to a location it stops after about 3 minutes and goes back to my today screen. When I start it again I have to set the destination again before the whole thing repeats again.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

sounds like a low memory issue. Do a soft reset before running TomTom. _________________ Lutz

I wondered that but there were no other programmes running. The Tomtom does seem a bit memory hungrey.
The hx4700 has a bit of a memory leak but not sure how else I can keep tomtom running.
Any ideas would be welcome! |

The 4700 had an issue with TTN vs5,0 as it caused a memory leak (I am not too sure if this was either VGA related or Bluetooth) either way try downloading the latest version from www.tomtom.com and install that onto your device, its free so give it a go, this version certainly overcame the memory leak issue. I have a Yakumo Alpha (Mio 168) with TT 5.21. This has been running well, until we left it for about 3 weeks off charge. Now when we are navigating TT shuts down for almost no reason. We have re installed the software and restarted the Yakumo, but still TT will shut down for no reason. We have noticed that when we pass a particular mobile phone mast it will shut down (Have managed to replicate this fault). Other times it will just shut down TT without reason. Once it does shut down you can not restart TT, or as soon as you do it shuts down again. Only after you leave it for a while TT will then run again for about 10-20 mins!
No other application is running, no events, tasks or appointments.
Any ideas. |

I think I've sorted it - it appears that I needed to allocate more Ram memory as having done it all is well - fingers crossed!
Initial thoughts are that it blows my AA navigator away. |
