Hi.

I have a 520 I bought just over a month ago. I have only used it about three times. If I plug the charger in then the battery / button end of the unit is getting rather warm. The orange charging light will come on but after a while will go green. So i think great it is charged. I unplug the charger and almost instantly the unit says it is low on power and connect to a charger. I have noticed that when I unplug the charger that the green light is staying on (dimly). This is the same whether using the car or house charger. Anyone got any ideas. My own personal opinion is that the battery or charging circuit in the unit is duff. Halfords were no use whatsoever and advise me to contact Navman which i will do tomorrow or I can return it to them and they will contact them. Hope someone can help.

You should persevere with Halfords. Under the sale of goods act if goods do not conform to contract at the time of sale, purchasers can request their money back within a reasonable time - 'reasonable' is usually construed as up to about 2 months. In other words it should work and if it does not and is faulty you should be able to have your money back or a replacement. Halfords should not be able to absolve their responsibility just by saying refer to the manufacturer. They are responsible for the sale. Evil or Very Mad

Quick update.

Sitting here now after running it completely flat and now that I am charging it with the unit turned off and on the house charger it is not getting the battery end hot. It would seem that the charging problem is only when the unit is turned on while charging. I have looked at the sale of goods act and other stuff and I will be returning it to Halfords for replacement tomorrow as it is clearly faulty.
