Is it possible to edit the default settings for the speeds associated with different road types?

TTG500.

Hi Hamish,

I think you will find there is no way of changing the speed that has been allocated to a road type.

I think it's held in the mapping data itself....... so there is no way of changing it.

To be honest it doesn't take long to figure out how much time difference there is between the quoted ETA and the actual.

I've found that with my driving, I can knock off about 5mins for every hour, unless it's all motorways then about 10mins per hour ish Wink

The main purpose for being able to edit the speeds for different road types was to get a route which was more suited to the roads you prefered to travel on eg set motorway speeds to 10mph which would avoid them ..one of the reasons I still use TTN3 Wink Laughing

You can avoid motorways with Version 5 by specifying Avoid Motorways instead of Fastest route etc.

Although its easy to take 5 or 10 mins of a journey, I have found that the low speeds attributed to rural B roads (unrestricted) seems to exlude them from the route - the TTG5 appears to favour A road and Motorways even though a riral b road may be more direct and quicker.

I can only speak for the TT One but I can plan to "Avoid Motorways" and the "Shortest Route" this 'should' bring all roads into the planning including the "B Roads"??

But when trying to get from Prestatyn to Wrexham I got sent along a dirt track so narrow I was convinced the mapping or the TT had completly lost the plot then I after 10miles got to the major A55 dual carridgeway with a works TT300 so it does think about it as far as I'm aware.
