Hi all,

I fitted the arial i had recieved from maplin`s this morning, on the outside of the car at the rear, as instructed by Matb (having first fixed it inside doh!! ) Went for a spin this afternoon and don`t know if it was me, but I found it a lot better, picked up the signal at every turn , think it`s just a bit quicker on the uptake.

Probably it`s a bit like buying a portable telly and connecting it to the main arial instead of using the loop thats usually provided, it just gives you a stronger signal and reception.

Also, I have still got the new 2.9 software installed on the i3, which I hadn`t had a chance to check out properly and believe it or not it was fine , no lock ups or any probs. When I did go over the speed limit the bongs were still there when they should be.

So all in all quite impressed, I will leave the arial where it is now as it`s all wired up neat and tidy, but for only a tenner it`s not going to break the bank and if it only gives you a slight improvement I think it`s worth it.

Another point, the sun and glare was quite strong today so what`s the latest on these visors? anyone had one yet? are they any good?

Regards....Dilwyn

I had an e-mail on the 14th to say mine has been despatched, but allow 7-10 working days for delivery from the US, so I expect it to be a while yet. I'll report on this forum when I've had a chance to try it out. Might have to wait for the sun to shine though!

Sunny Sussex also lived up to its name this morning, but cloudy by lunchtime.

I just know that once I'm prepared for the sun it won't show its face. Sad

after much consultation, with dilwyn, my aerial has arrived and will be fitted this afternoon.
like him i have no problems running the i3 without, apart from what i would describe as, a slow sat lock time.
if this improves then the £10 was well spent.
it is smaller than i expected and will be mounted on the roof of my estate car, next to the radio aerial toward the rear.

it looks promising as indoors i get no signal but with i have a strength reading of 4. Laughing
