|
|
Dear All,
I am the satisfied owner of a Medion PNA 100 with Medion-Navigator 4.4. The only problem is the absence of cross-border navigation with that particular software. Belgium being a fairly small country, this has its inconvenience.
Medion's web-site offers the possibility to ugrade to Medion-Navigator for EUR 150. I am tempted, but there is no explanation of the features of that new version. Does anyone know whether cross-border navigation is enabled without switching cards?
Otherwise, what software in the same price range (with maps of Western Europe) would you recommend?
Thanks for your help,
Thierry |

I emailed Medion to ask about the differences between 4.4 and 5. Here is there reply.
Thank you for your message
There are minimal differences between 4.4 and 5. The main difference is the interface and introduction of TMC.
A PNA 100 has been tested with version 5 and has been proven to function without any problems.

There was no reference to cross border planning which is a pain as I live in Germany and have to change maps four times when visiting. |

Lucky you that you got a reply from Medion!
I was in touch with Navigon. They claim that cross-border navigation is indeed available...
I do nto know what to believe now. |

I emailed Medion again regarding cross border navigation and this is their reply.
Thank you for your message
This is possible providing you obtain a big enough MMC to fit the map data onto.
Hope this helps.

I have also found out that v5 supports TMC although in what capacity I don't know. Medionshop.de is a much better place to find information. Use the translate feature on google unless you read german. |
