520 'Premium Edition' european maps are definitely not 'Street Level'
for all the countries listed! I am going to Portugal shortly and expected
to be able to set my hotel,in a major resort,as a favorite, hire a car, go
sightseeing and my Navman would guide me back. No such luck, it appears that the map has street level mapping for a few major towns,ie
Lisbon, and the rest of the country just major roads, no mention of popular tourist areas. After spending £400 odd it seems I have to buy a
couple of quid paper map to find my way around!! It is the same for an
area of Spain that I intend to visit. I rang tech' support, they agreed that
the mapping is sparse but blamed TeleAtlas. The point is I, and probably
many others, assumed that Street Level meant just that. So be warned
don't buy european maps for Portugal or Spain. I am not sure about the maps for France, Italy etc. as I haven't put any others onto a SD card yet.
If anybody has please let me know if they are really 'street level' Thanks.

Hi
France no problem or the Netherlands. I was in Belgium last week. I have used both of my GPS’s in the above areas with no problem. I holiday in France most years. Last year down to Millau (Where that tallest bridge in the world lives), then crossing the Rhone alps and back to Calais.
This year down to Avignon and Switzerland. I know that I will not have any problems with France but Switzerland may be another thing. Anyone been?
Regards
DRP

Cannot speak about Switzerland, but to add to the discussion, I can say that I have covered Northern France, Belgium, Southern Germany and most of Austria, Northern Italy from the Slovenian border right across to the Frejus tunnel (west of Torino) and upwards (North) thro the Brenner from Lago di Garda area, all without any problem at street level. This year I hope to cover most of Northern Germany East to Dresden before travelling south through Austria into Slovenia etc.
What I know I cannot expect is any coverage in CZ or the Balkan states. One day perhaps Question

When I bought my European maps I can remember seeing a map of Europe with colour coding to show the level of coverage for the individual countries. Doesn't appear to be there now, just a disclaimer
Please note: The map coverage may vary from country to country. Please contact Navman for further information.

Which isn't as helpful or as obvious. Do remember Portugal being quite low compared with the rest.
