Hi
Anyone on here know why the option to input house numbers for the Northern Ireland region of the UK is blanked out using Medion Navigon. It is possible to select from rest of UK & Ireland. I contacted both Navteq and Medion and none of them could answer my question. It is not a hardware problem, as I know other people who have sam problem? |

It looks like the old usual trick to me, there is a lot of information on N.Ireland
Out there but it is that expensive for mapping Companies to use they just don’t bother
I have been looking for detailed digital maps of N.Ireland for some years now and hit the same
Brick wall Pay Loads of cash or push off, our friends on the UK mainland has no idea
What we have to put up with here and tourism Local’s professional drivers all suffer for the expense of big brother to make a few more quid on our little rock.
I would not worry about the post codes being greyed out
It will work fine on the mainland. |

Maps of Ireland are very poor indeed, there is too much involved with the way Ireland is plit up to try and do detailed maps, there is a high cost assigned to it also. I would stick to paper maps of Ireland at present. _________________ Regards

To the above post, you dont explain much by saying what you do. I have Maps for N.Ireland which are decent enough in my oppinion, trouble is I can't input house numbers for NI, which was my original gripe. Is it not expensive to map rest of uk also, why should it be complicated to map Ireland, dont know what you mean by the way it is split up? |

Have a look at http://pocketgpsworld.com/navteq2.php this is for the republic of Ireland. I have been in the satnav industry for nearly three years and heard a lot of complaints about the map data for Ireland in general. Due to this i do not recommend satnav for that area. _________________ Regards
