Just recently, my GPSLim 236 has been not functioning when I power it on. The BT and SAT LEDs light up for a sec at power up, but then the BT blinks, and the SAT LED goes out, and never lights again.
Leaving out the main battery over 24 hours, and trying again doesn't fix it.
Attempts to connect to it via BT are not successful. iGuidance simply repeatedly prompts the PPC OS to display the BT devices for me to select from. Also, using the appropriate USB cable doesn't work either.
I purchased it from Semsons.com, I believe I'm running the 3.1.1 firmware.
S/N is: 236-52100956
PLEASE HELP!!! A dead GPS does me no good!
Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
It might be that your battery has developed a fault and is not charging properly so will not allow the unit to connect to the PDA.
I would contact Semson's and ask them to check the unit under the warranty terms.

That's disappointing. Don't you warranty Holux products purchased from Semsons?
Support section of the Semsons site for Holux products lists only an email link to: info@holux.com.tw
Can you help? |

Also, I don't suspect this is the issue. It ran in this "disabled" mode for an hour or two. I was waiting for the SAT LED to light up and start to search for satellites. I also performed a full charge to eliminate that possibility. |

Hi,
Semsons should support the Holux warranty as they are the retailer.
If not you can contact Holux Technology via their website www.holux.com.tw.
We only support products purchased from us or our dealer chain.
It does sound as if you have a dead unit so I would have thought Semson's should swap it for you if it is within their warranty period.
Regards,
Julie |
