Having just had a 2 day fight to reactivate my Haicom 302CF GPS which included reinstalling everything in an attempt to get CE Navigator to see the correct COM port, I was wondering if there is a utility out there that would allow me to "image" the contents of my PDA to my desktop's hard drive so that should this happen again it could all be restored easily and simply?

Any suggestions gratefully received as now would be the time for me to do it as I have now got a bare pda setup with TomTom 2 running successfully again.

Thanks in anticipation.

Pocket Backup from Sprite software seems to be the one I've seen recommended. I've got the plus version but have not yet needed to do a restore yet!

Don't trust it religiously, make sure you can do a restore over the top now and again. The reason why I say this is I sware by Pocket Backup, I have the Plus version too, however, one Pocket PC I could restore quite happily, another Pocket PC that I had restored on a number of occasions, failed to restore, in the end I had to do a hard reset and lose everything.

TBH, I had so much crap installed on the Pocket PC for the past couple of years, it's not surprising, I tend to keep my Pocket PC's fairly clean now, but it's always best to try a restore now and again, just in case! Thumbs Up

Thanks guys,

That seems to be settled then, keep it clean (I too was collecting junk I'm afraid) and use Pocket Backup!

TBH the Haicom problem probably could have been solved without hard reset but when you think your £100 gps is now a paperweight you don't worry too much about losing a bit of data! (the Haicom sat with the light locked on but wouldn't pass data, think it was stuck in sirf mode?)

Cheers, off to check it out now.
