I would like to upgrade from TT5 Version 5.00 to 5.21 so I can use Lutz's POI Capture programme but I have lots of my personal POIs already recorded and do not not want to lose them I make the change.
If I upgraded to 5.2 would my GB map folder also be upgraded to say Great_Britain v605 - is that part of the same upgrade? And if I wer to do this would I lose all of my personal POIs as a result or could I some how transfer these to the maps?
I am not sure which map version I currently have, nor how I can find out - can any one help here please?

The upgrade is just the software not the maps, as the POI's are part of the maps they will not be affected.
As ever, make a full backup first. |

1. If you upgrade to 5.2, you do not get updated maps. Just the software is updated. Therefore you will not lose your POI's. If you purchase an updated map, you can copy your POI's from your map folder to your PC or laptop and then put them into your updated map folder.
2. Click on the bottom right of your tomtom screen, then click on the version number, and the map version should be in there. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Mark and lupos0_1
Just checked my map version as per lupos0_1's advice - I have v562. Would it be worth my while upgrading maps to v605? Is there somehwere I could check for myself to see how many changes have been made?
Thanks lupos0_1 for tip as to how I could transfer my POIs to new mapping software. I'll certainly do that when the time comes; and I'll back up now in the meantime. |
