New to the site and in need of help.... please

Firstly what a great site, found it by accident and so glad I did, thanks to everyone for making such a site

Now here is my question, I currently have an old XDA with Navigator 3, however I have just bought a new XDA mini S and would like to use a newer version of TT.

Given that I already have all the hardware parts for sat/nav can I just buy the software (maps and programs)? Everywhere I have looked it appears that I need to buy a full package which will have duplicates of bits I already have.

Any help, advice etc you can offer would be very helpful, also if you have a link to where I can buy that would be great too.
