|
|
I have TomTom Navigator 5 for Pocket PC. Planning a trip to a friend's place in France next month and he wants to examine the route plan in order to provide amendments for a more scenic drive, some shortcuts and to avoid some tolls. How can I export the route text so I can email it to him?
Thanks

I can't think of a specific way to export text, if your mate in France uses TomTom or has access to one you could consider using the Itineries option have a look at http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=3604&Language=1 - you can save this route for furture use, and or send it to someone else, not quite what you wanted - Mike |

If you have a digital camera, zoom in on part of the route and take a pic. Scroll across to the next portion, another pic etc. Then e-mail as attachments.
Alternatively, show route as text and take a pic of each section.
Not perfect, silly maybe, but it will work. |

I run a digital photography web site
Digital Photography Now (http://dpnow.com)
So I've followed your suggestion! But a route export feature would be handy of course.

you could use somthing like screeshot ce to capture the screen showing the route text (though for a long trip 4 or 5 screen shots maybe needed) you could then pull them of your sd card and then on to you pc and then email them to your freind _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Is there a way of using Itinerary Planning mode without the GPS on and with satellites locked?

You can use itinerary planning without GPS, it works fine, you only need the GPS active for the actual navigation bit which can be done later. - Mike |

It wants to wait for the GPS to be locked before it will calculate the route.

Fair point, I thought you just wanted a way of forcing it to go a route via chosen locations, It won't create the route until presented with its start point, looks like its back to the screen captures - Mike |

You could use the advance planning feature. Start it where you would normally start the route you want to send to your friend. Then use the option of show route demo. Once this starts, stop the demo immediately. You should now be able to use the itinery planning as it will 'think' that you are at the stopped location from your route demo.
I have not tried this method but can't see why it will not work.
Let me know. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------
