Running my i3 on v2.7 at the moment, up don’t know if I should download the new beta copy v2.82 and upload it onto my gps.

Would you recommend to put v2.82 (beta) onto my gps or leave in as v2.7

Read the changelog, and read the thread in here about what it add / changes and breaks.

Then decide if that balance is worth it to you.

If nothing particular piques your interest, and you're happy as you are, I'd wait for the stable release (I say this as somebody who's running 2.82 beta).

There has been a few posts about this and some have had problems and others not, so it's your choice to update or wait ?
