I would like to install GPS in my car....I know NOTHING about it !
I am in the process of purchasing a new GSM mobile smartphone [ audiovox SMT 5600/iMate SP3 - same phone] for use in NA as well as Europe. It operates on the 2nd edition Windows. I would like the voice guidance as well as the image on my PDA phone.
I need guidance in which receiver to use as well what would be the most user-friendly software for Western Canada and US.
I really appreciate your help !

The most user friendly software would be TomTom Mobile but it is not offered in the US/Canada. You could purchase it in Europe, and then get the North America maps in addition.
Apart from that you have endless possibilities - CoPilot, Navigon, Mapopolis, Destinator SP all run on your phone, and they all have maps for both locations.
As for the receiver - you have to use a Bluetooth receiver and should only buy one with SiRF III chipset, for example a Globalsat BT338 (or the TomTom MKII) _________________ Lutz

Lutz,
Are you sure you don't mean Tom Tom Navigator, not mobile, given that the device is said to be a Windows device, even though it is described as a "smartphone", which may have caused the confusion.? _________________ Peter
