Hi guys - my question revolves around the Windows Mobile 5 operating system and TomTom Navigator 5 - so anyone with experience here will be a great help.
I have an i-mate K-JAM and had a bit of a 'mare with installing TTN5 but in the end I got it working. The original card supplied with the package wouldn't physically fit in my PDA so I had to copy the contents over - anyway the package works (even TomTom support didn't have a clue and I ended up getting fed up of their "reading-from-a list-style" support I emailed them offering my services to their support team ).
I have got the Speed Camera Database working after a struggle but I still can't get the full POSTCODE system working (it only goes to 5 instead of 8 digits) and also the 5.2 TomTom update won't work.
I wondered if anyone using Windows Mobile 5 had similar problems? Or even better, solutions |

To get the full postcodes working try putting a folder called tomtom in the root of your memory card, it remains empty but cures this fault, What does the upgrade do/ not do? - it works fine on my WM2005 equipped device - Mike |

Are you accessing it properly - if you go for postcode search in the address option you will only get 5 digit. You need to go to second pahe and hit postcode option. _________________ Peter

Thanks for the replies guys!

Thanks for the tip, I did know that but will make sure I do it that way.

Excellent! That cured it!! I didn't have a TomTom folder on the card. Thanks!
What does the upgrade do/ not do?
When I run the upgrade, I can select the phone as a "Windows Mobile Phone Edition" and then choose the memory card. It gets about half way through then just returns to the front menu where I can select Install, Backup, Remove Voices etc....
So with the postcode cured all that is outstanding now is the upgrade. It is currently version 5.10 |

*Update!
I looked on the memory card and the empty TomTom folder has now been populated with 23 files;
PIMAddInApp.exe
Tom Tom MOBILE.exe
Data.chk
PIMAddIn.dll
(and other versions of this with different filenames).
What's the score with this?! |
