Policy? Database and Obsolete Cameras

I read occasionally of people reporting obsolete cameras for Dbase removal. I wonder just what the exact policy is here. Some people appear ( and this is purely my judgement based on the wording they use, eg: "obsolete" rather than "removed") to report the removal of a camera despite the yellow box remaining. I am also told some areas may move the cameras between boxes, as they have more boxes than cameras.
So it worries me slightly that cameras might be being removed from the database when in reality there is a possibility that the camera will be back in its box next week.

I would rather my TT tell me about an empty box, than not tell me about one with a re-installed camera, that was indeed an empty box last week.

Is the policy to remove an entry only when the post and box has been definitely removed from site, or are we using a somewhat watered down version of that ? Do you remove an entry after just one report, or do you collate reports from several members before removal?


I suppose some pro-camera activists could even try to maliciously remove cameras from the database, which is another issue altogether.
