Can not get gps signal on acer n35, i am using tom tom 5 software, and have tried various gps congigurations, any one know what the settings are? or if there is another problem.
It had Destinator on before which i un-installed, prior to installing tt5.

make sure you've got the v5.21 update installed then select other cable NMEA, baud 4800 & serial cable SP2 i think it is. |

I get the first two options but not the third, on the acer i get
sc2410 usb
com3
s2410 irda2410
s2410 uart0
gps on navigator

On the Acer you select GPS on Navigator.
I've got the speed on mine set to the max and works fine.
The only other thing to check is in the satellites page.
On this page there is a little circle in the top right corner (yellow & blue I think) When this is rotating it means the unit is searching for sats. If this is not rotating. Perform a soft reset and this should correct the problem.
The other thing I find is that if you allow the Acer to look for satellites prior to starting TOMTOM (ie. lift the antena and the blue light flashes) it gets a lock much faster, even when moving. _________________ Mikey

Are you running destinator as well as tom tom, is this ok, i had destinator on the acer but removed that to put tomtom on it. |

Yes,
I've got both loaded on my SD card (1Mb). I use Destinator when I go to Ireland as the mapping is better and tomtom for the UK as the postcode search is better as destinator doesn't have this FULL facility and also doesn't list a lot of commercial premises eg. industrial estates. _________________ Mikey
