I have just acquired one of these GPS units and would like to know which version of TomTom I need to use with it on my iPAQ 2210.
I am currently using TomTom Navigator 5.xx with a normal bluetooth GPS receiver. |

It can be wired or BT. I'll be using it on BT though. |

The doumentation with this GPS unit is a single sheet with data about the unit and some very basic set-up instructions. There's not even any information on the GNS website re what software to use etc. I find this unusual for a German company.
I have e-mailed them for info but they are very slow at replying. |

I have a GNS TMC GPS Mouse but to use it with any non-TMC aware application you ned to install and run a driver which switches off the TMC functionality.

I would like to use it with TMC, does that mean that I'll have to buy/subscribe to TomTom Traffic? |

Yes. TomTom don't support RDS/TMC so the software (TomTom) cannot use the data that a TMC enabled receiver can supply nor could they decode it without the necessary licence.
Your only option currently is their Traffic service over GPRS.
TomTom have announced a TMC receiver for the new GO range but whether this will also be compatible with a newer version of their PocketPC software remains to be seen. _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK thanks Darren the thing that is bugging me is that I can't use Traffic on my PDA because I can't connect to my BT GPS receiver and BT phone simultaneously to get the GPRS data, as only one BT device can connect to my PDA at a time.
Or is there a way to do it?
You're probably going to say use a wired GPS aren't you? |

You should be able to do that, I've used BT GPS and BT Phone with a PDA at the same time, most support multiple BT connections. What PDA do you have? _________________ Darren Griffin |
