|
|
Hi i'm new here and new very technically minded so I hope you'll bare with me,
Right I have followed the PoiEdit install instructions and now want to install the POI database (speed camera locations plus a couple of other things) But when I click on a Poi then +PDA I recieve an error message saying Remote API library not found, make sure you have ActiveSync installed.
Anybody know were i've gone wrong?
In my PoiEdit window I also have a push pin icon NOT a tomtom hand. One thing is that I did'nt connect my tom tom while I installed PoiEdit, should I have done?
Cheers,
Pete. |

Pete, you don't need POIEdit to use the database, infact at the moment it won't work with it, just download the files you need for the correct device and select the type of install you want single file, split by camera type or split by camera type and speed. Connect your device to the PC and copy the files across into the GB map folder DO NOT copy them across as a folder the files (ov2 and bmp) MUST reside in the GB map folder - Mike |

I'm aware that API issues are possible if you try to download from any site other than the main site. For instance you may encounter problems if you arrive through a mirror site such as pocketgpsworld.com. Are you on the main site PocketGPSWorld.com?
Apologies, we hope to have this glitch sorted soon. |

Dont you have to subscribe to the camera database if you dont do it through PoiEdit? If not could you post a link of where I can get the files on this site?
Rob yeah downloaded it through pocketgpsworld.
Thanks,
Pete. |

I have just noticed if I click on the +local icon instead of the +PDA it will let me place that particular file in a folder on my pc, can't I just place it in the great britain folder on my desktop for my tomtom then copy my maps to my new SD card?
Or is it not as simple as that? bet it's not
Cheers,
Pete. |

Pete, please don't double post in other forums, this only leads to confusion (and possible delays in getting a reply to your problem), I explained above that POIEdit doesn't as yet work with the database but there are alternatives to using this for the time being.
I have locked the other thread and informed Rob to place any response in to this one.
To keep the "Thread" going I have included Robs last post:

Sorry, only just spotted this post. I have passed it on to the more technically minded team members who should be able to help. |
