Ok heres a thought...

In the menu setting for the i3 you can set it up as ... Taxi.. car etc.. But also a Motorcycle - So why oh why oh why oh why has the unit NOT got an ear piece? A water proof housing available, a motorcycle mounting available, Why oh why oh why?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address..... 8O

Yes. Budget model. There are lots of things that are "missing" - you just pay more for them on other models...

DIY

Don't blame me if it doesn't work, and it would void warranty.

MaFt

I now realise this MaFt and shall take the ultimate sacrifice - I shall slaughter the life of this poor little i3, i shall take him to a mountain high and sing some hymns, eat the body and drink the blood of a lamb, then continue to sacrifice this innocent little i3! - Sweet jesus lord the i3 is coming home!!!!!

Bring on the AA map book, who needs an i3 Burn In Hell

Make sure you mark a waypoint before you set off so you can find your way back again. Wink

Yeah theres a few, but seemed over rated and over priced last year when i looked at one for the ride4smiles project.
to be fair as long as you know what you are doing then i daresay MOST (not all) sat navs can be adapted to fit a bike.

Ive tried and tested sat nav on the bike and i dont just mean the i3, if you visit my site you will see ahich system i used. Now when this company OFFERED to help they stipulated the system was NOT for a bike and alterations were needed, but they couldnt help as they hadnt a clue, fortunately i did!
When i returned they gave me the system, which now sits on the bottom of my wardrobe all boxed up - Why? because you gotta pay for it as you use it!
The system was ithout flaw for the 3000 mile trip!
I then became hooked on sat nav, but wanted an affordable one, a compact one, and one that could swap between bike and car, the i3 does this with ease (now ive modified it).

So, what was the original question MaFt 8O Confused

Sure on price grounds they are about the same comparison as Chalk and Cheese Laughing I am impressed with the I3 - just needs an in built charger circuit to complete the package - will be off to Maplins to get some bits this weekend and perform some DIY surgery on the little unit - Mike

Please, a word to the wise, as you are obviously knowledgable enough to carry out this procedure please please for anyone else who tries this - DONT FORGET YOU CANT STICK NORMAL BATTERIES IN ONCE YOUVE DONE THIS OR THE LIL OL' I3 WILL FRY EM UP!

Mike, will you pm when you have finished, would be a nice little mod for mine, depending on room tho, as ive used up what little inernal space was there with the socket!
