You will need to set up the Camera Warnings by going into Change Preferences and Manage POI. Then select Warn When Near. Follow through the various menus.
This will set up the Visual and Audible Display of Cameras. _________________ Richard

When you say
Quote: | if i go into the tomtom i can see all the files |
do you mean that you can see them when you look at the contents of the card when it is connected to the PC or that you can see them on the Go's own screen in "Manage POIs"? |

Then as Richard mentioned earlier you need to configure them - this will have to be repeated for each one you have loaded (speed zoned set-up needs 23 POI's to be set - write them all down and tick them off as you go) - one other thought have you selected Hide POI by any chance, it should have a red X accross the icon on the first page of preferences - if not this could be your problem - Mike |

David if you only have the one to setup then that is fine - you will have downloaded the single database that contains all the cameras, the 23 I refered to is for the speed zoned set-up so we can disregard this for now.
When you go into the warn when near POI first screen sets a distance circa 273 yards?
on the next screen you select a warning noise bell 1 etc (unless you have something else loaded, use the test button to find the audio prompt you like the most)
On the last screen there is a check box for "Warn when near POI" have you selected this - if so you need to plan a route to be warned of a camera, driving around without a route planned will not give you a warning.
The benefit of the Warn when POI on route being checked is that it will reduce the amount of warnings on adjecent roads etc. to the detriment of driving without a route - no route = no warnings when this is checked, is this what is wrong per chance??

Please David, if you could use the occasional capital letter, full stop and question mark, it would be easier to work out whether you are telling us something or asking a question.

I have followed Mike's instructions, but it still appears not to be working.
One question does it show the location of speed cameras when you look at a map on the screen or does it only show the speed cameras when you plan a route?
Also when I go into Add POI, on that screen I have Pocket GPS Cameras, Restuarants, Hotels and Motels, Petrol Stations and Places of Worship. If I press on any of these bar speed cameras it gives me a list of all different locations for these POIs, but if I press on Pocket GPS Cameras, all it says is no POI found. Is this correct?
Many apologies for the bad grammar, now got my own secretary. |

From what you describe you have loaded too many POI's - the limit is 39 custom POI over and above the supplied ones so you will need to delete some to be able to to use the Speed Camera database if this has been loaded after the others -
first in last out approach applies here, have a serious look at what you actually need - and delete the rest, as for if the device will show the cameras on the map with or without a route (your original question - my last answer - there is some logic somewhere) make sure you understand what happens when you select "Warn if POI on Route" is checked, if checked you need the route programed to display the warning, if not it will warn you when you get close to the POI, in addition if the camera POI are disabled in the enable / disable option then they wont show on the map at all, other than for warnings when configured, but you can only have 39 custom - Mike |
