|
|
Hi all,
Having major problems installing TomTom V5 (Europe CD Version) on to Mio A201.
I have tried the following approach:
1. Hard reset device.
2. Install TomTom to Default (device)
3. Install a map to the SD card
4. Upgrade to version 5.21
5. Run TomTom
The result of the above is that I get as far as selecting a voice, at which point it just craps out of TomTom.
Any help would be appreciated.

If I remember rightly the Mio uses WM2005 for its OS. If thats correct then you need to update to the latest version of Tom Tom from the TT website. _________________ Peter

http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/forum/ftopic4531.html
i managed to install using these from above
"have a lank SD card
hard reset 201 to factory condition
without the card in PDA install totmtom version 5.10
soft reset pda
upgarde to Tomtom version 5.12
soft reset pda
copy three folders to SD card
namely Great Britain Map,ZIP and Voices
Once the folders have been copied (either via card reader or Active Synch)
put the SD card in the PDA
Do not run Tomtom Programme
Copy at least two set of Voices to Voices Folder.
Soft Reset PDA again
Run Tomtom Programme
when it asks your for activation code put a wrong code in.......etc
rest of the instructions are given elsewhere in previous posts
and lastly remove the extra CFG file from programmes/navigator" |

Thanks for your reply.
I have now tried for weeks to get it working, still getting nowhere.
When you say Quote: | copy three folders to SD card
namely Great Britain Map,ZIP and Voices |
I assume you mean install the GB Map and Postcodes to the SD card? As for the Voices? No option to install them to SD card?
Any help appreciated.. _________________ Mio A201 | TomTom V5
