Will the navigator 4.2 maps work with navigator 5 on the Medion 96800?
I would expect navigator 5 to be backwards compatible - but am I wrong?
Thanks |

Medion v5 maps will not work with any v4.xx version at all, it was completely redesigned by Navigon who provide Medion with their software.
But Navigon v5 is so slow on my Mio168 that I just don't use it, 4-6 seconds behind the current position. Still only has 5 digit post code search at best.
Spent a lot of money buying v5 because v4.2 had been quite good.
I then purchased TomTom v5 and have not looked back. |

My question was not "will nav 5 maps work on nav4 software" but will "nav 4.2 maps work on nav 5 software"?
i.e. will the early maps run on the later programme? |

Well either way, they are completely different, so it's still no. |
