cant update poi via poi edit

ok so i took the plung and got a new 2210 yesterday ive nearly got it all sorted but i cant use poi edit to update my pois went i try to updste everything is fine until i try to doown load on to the pda and i get a message saying it cant write to the file but i can open the card using the remotebutton also i cant validate checkpoint do need to reregister help please as im about to chuck all my toys out ofthe pram and my dummy going out to

Are you using ActiveSync 3.6 or below, or 3.7 ?

Try undocking the Pocket PC and restarting the PC and also soft resetting iPAQ and trying again. I've just tried with my iPAQ 2210 and it downloads okay and overwrites any previously downloaded entries.

Make sure that POI-Edit shows the correct location. If you had another Pocket PC before and used the Sync Service, it may be pointing to Storage Card in POI-Edit under Options | AutoUpdate Settings.

On Windows Mobile 2003, Storage cards are now correctly identified as what they should be, e.g. CF Card and SD Card. The above window in POI-Edit should show:-

MOBILE://SD Card\Great_Britain Navigator Map\[file.ov2]

If it's not showing this, you may want to remove them from this screen and re-add them back choosing the new location by using the WIZARD

If you have a valid connection in ActiveSync, but POI Edit won't use it, select the "Reconnect" option in the File menu of POI Edit.

So far as validating CheckPOInt goes, that sounds like CheckPOInt 3. If you want to use the PocketGPS camera database, CheckPOInt 2.0.2 (available from the downloads page on this site) is arguably better. CheckPOInt 3 makes it pretty much impossible to collect information on new or altered cameras for submission to Pocket GPS.
