Odd behaviour from a BR355

I bought a Globalsat BR-355 recently (with Navigator 4.3 from Directions ltd.). It was supplied with an adapter lead to convert the PS2 connector to USB.

While it seems to work fine with the navigating laptop, I notice that when I plug it in to almost any other USB 1 port (I have tried 4 other computers – all USB 1 with win98), the red "power" light doesn't come on. Windows 98 detects the device, but there appears to be no power to it.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here please?

Mmm. That is a bit odd. Although it could be that the drivers need to be installed on the other PCs/Laptops.
