Software selection for hiking

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the software I should get. I would like it to

1) Be able to import scanned maps
2) Not be dependant on a laptop or PC for setting up routes etc. as I won't be able to access one
3) Provide coordinate in lat/lon and OSGB (although I suspect that most would be able to do this)

I have had a look at OziExplorer, which seems very nice, but I don't like the fact that you have to fall back to a PC to set up a new route.

Hi there
You can create a route on OziExplorerCE on the Pocket PC.
On my current version 1.12.3 you do it like this:
- On the menu, select View - Toolbars - Route Create Toolbar
- Click the first button on the toolbar, a plus symbol and waypoint dot
- Click on the map to draw your route
Use the other buttons to insert points within a route, save it, etc.
OziExplorer is excellent software, as long as you have the time and inclination to calibrate your own maps.
