|
|
I have used my Tom Tom without any problems for months now, including adding the updates whenever released, but went to switch the unit on on Friday and it just stayed on the 2 red hands with Tom Tom underneath.
I had to press reset to switch off and tried again with the same result.
I then formatted the sd card and installed the backup off my pc, switched on and same result. Tried installing the previous update, in case 5.42 was the cause, and still the same result.
I then tried a friends sd card in my unit and yet again same result.
I emailed someone who said he can fix the units, and he said it was the card, but i am not sure.
The unit is out of guarantee but the sd card is still under guarantee, because i replaced the original card with a Kingston 512mb to fit poi`s on.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, because i am lost without my Tom Tom!! |

Have you tried the original card in the GO? Does this work?
If this works, it points to a faulty SD Card. If not, the Unit would seem to be faulty. _________________ Richard

Thanks for your reply, i have not got the original card because i didn`t think i would need it again, but my friends sd card is an original and that didn`t work.
Because of that i thought of the unit being faulty, but this other chap said it sounds like the card????
If it is the unit does anyone fix them or is it just as much to replace it??
Many thanks! |
