I have downloaded the speed zoned files & I want to load them on but i am uncertain of which files to use & where to put them ?
I will back up before I do anything but do I have delete anything off the TT1 before these files can be loaded on ?
Once the speed zoned files have been loaded on can you just load the safety camera database each month the same as usual ? |

Sorry about this but I need it in laymans terms
I take it I load the speed zoned ov2 bmp files from the gatso mobile & specs folders in to the Great britain map, ? But before I load them on do I delete the bmp files for the safety cameras on the Tomtom unit first ?
When updating each month & wanting the speed zoned warnings do I load just the speed zoned files on or do i have to load the normal ov2 files on first & then the speed zoned files after ? |

The instructions are in layman's terms!!
I think you are getting confused - I was at first. But after you've done it once......
You have 3 choices of how you want to be warned.
1. You can just choose the single file .ov2 and .bmp This will give you all the cameras but you won't know whether they are gatso, mobile or whatever.
2. Or you can load the five .ov2 and bmp files from the "ov2 bmp" folder. Same cameras as before but you will know what type of camera you are looking for. Don't load these AND the single file camera file. If you do you will have all the cameras in twice.
3. You can also get the speed detail by loading the ov2 and bmp files from the "Speed zoned" folder. There are three sets gatso, mobile and specs. If you use these each set will be used instead the gatso, mobile and specs file from the "ov2 bmp" folder. You still need the redlight and temp files from that folder for a complete set. This option takes up to 28 ov2 files. It may restrict your choice of other PoIs as you can only have a aximum of 39 .ov2 files in total _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

...and each month you just copy over the .ov2 files. The bmp ones are usually the same. You will be asked if you want to replace the files of the same name already in the TomTom, say "yes" to all. Warning sounds and distances will be OK. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Not sure where you get 28 ov2 files...
I think the full list (if you want the full speed-zoned option) will be:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_tba.ov2 (not in latest download)
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2
(and don't forget their matching .bmp icon files)
making 23 or 24 categories.
One final note; until recently the SPECS cameras were not split up into speed-zoned. Some older versions of the TomTom firmware only allow 27 POI categories (39 normally).
So for those people, or if you want to add loads of other stuff as POIs, you can always use the single SPECS file instead, which gives this smaller list:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
Hope that's not complicated it! |

I did say "up to" :D But I was counting in my head
I think I added an imaginary unnumbered file for each group as well as the tba one and then I have the continental one as well. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I have previously installed the non speed zoned ov2 and bmp files. Should I delete the ones relating to Gatso Specs and Mobile cameras if I intend to install the speed zoned files, or does one over-right the other ? |

You need to delete.
Or, if you keep them, set a different warning distance and get a double warning for each camera.
Because the specs cameras give you time to adjust before you get to the second one of the pair, I haven't used the speed related specs set, just left the single specs in place. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Yes you can load these over the top, But it will ask if you want to do this, just click yes to all.
You don't need to copy over the bmp files because these will be the same. |

Thanks guys, but please don't fight about it !!
The reason I asked was because the basic Gatso icon is easily recognisable, so I wondered if the Gatso image and the Speed icon would both be displayed when I approached the camera, or if one would show on top of the other. As I have my TT set to warn me of Gatsos then I would be looking for it anyway and the speed display would be a bonus. I don't think I need to set up a warning for the speed zoned gatso as these should already be warned of by the basic gatso ov2 file (I think). I know on most roads you just know what the speed limit is, but sometimes it gets confusing. |
