|
|
Hi there - first posting, not sure what to do, but here goes. Having just purchased my Tom Tom One (version 5.410). Even though I've set the language as English UK, when I press 'Navigate to', then 'Point of Interest', then 'Shop', it shows a list of names and distances from my house but all state 'Partco autopart' on the list. If I go in any other POI, eg: 'Shopping Centre' it comes up with the list of Shopping Centres in my area in English. Does anyone know why this so? or how I can solve the problem. Many thanks for any help. |

I hadn't noticed this before but that is normal behaviour. For some reason the 'Shop' POI group seems to predominantly contain information for 'Partco autoparts ltd' as well as one or two entries for Halfords, Harrods and a few garages!
A very strange mix _________________ Darren Griffin

Exactly the same as mine. Partco is English - its the name of a chain of parts suppliers (are they franchised??). Guess that they are the only ones that gave TT the information for their database. _________________ Peter

I've just received a message from Tom Tom support team (thought I'd never get a reply). It reads "The POI database for shops is for car part shops and is a rough guideline . The database for POI's is not 100% accurate . There are 3rd party POI files available for download at various sites if you require more specific POI location . Please check the sites mentioned at the below location". One of the sites listed is pocketgpsworld.com. This forum is so helpful. |
