I have an iPAQ 3850 with the Compaq iPAQ Navigation System Navman Jacket, that was quite happily running TTN3, after ripping out Pocket CoPilot 2.
I've bought TTN5 but have become totally frustrated with not getting a sat fix quick enough, so as my existing hardware is about 4-5 years old, I'm thinking of biting the bullet and replacing the lot.
Soooo, what am I looking for?
With Pocket Informant, Personal Vehicle Manager, Snoopsoft Dashboard and other software already installed, I guess I'm looking for another Windows OS PPC...
TTN5 is on CF in the Navman sleeve, so a PDA with CF slot.
I use an SD card for mp3 and lit file storage, so SD/SDIO slot.
I have a wireless home network with broadband, so WiFi
I regretted getting the 3850 instead of the 3870, so Bluetooth
I want to be able to use the PDA with a GPS receiver in my car, hire cars and on my motorbike (which has a cigar lighter socket, so power not a problem), routing the sound via 3.5mm audio jack to the Autocomm intercomm unit
Having spent a week or two looking at loads of options, I think I may be leaning towards the iPAQ hx4700, which the www.totalpda.co.uk site seems to think would go well with a Carcomm wired GPS and mount... I did email them asking for their suggestions, but their business must be booming, as they don't seem to have the time to respond ;)
Does anyone have any experience of this setup, or any alternative suggestions?
