Have reposted here as nobody seems to be looking in the Checkpoint forum!
For about a week I had everything working fine.
Now TT5.21 doesn't display speed camera's. Everything else is there from Halfords to McDonalds! but not the speed camera's. The overlays are all there as are the bmp's in my GB map folder on the SD card but they still don't show up.
Any ideas[/b] |

How many POI's have you got enabled? there is a limit of 39 so if you have hit that by enabling all the other ones it will not display the safety camera POI's, try turning off the others and see if you can re-select the cameras - Mike |

I have 3 maps on my SD card, does the 39 include all the POI's enabled on every map or just the active map?
Thanks |

More info;
I wondered if this was the problem, however Tom Tom is not even showing the speed cameras in the POI list to display which makes me think that the overlay is missing or corrupt, I have manually downloaded the latest speedcam overlays and bmp's and put them in the UK folder and still nothing. |

The limit is 39 in each Map Folder. Have you any other POI Categories in the Map Folder?
The GB Safety Cameras will only show up in a Map that covers GB.
If you go into Manage POI > Add POI, how many Categories are displayed for selection? _________________ Richard

There are 39 items listed in "Add POI" none of which are speed cameras.
There are 12 POI selected in "Enable/Disable POI" and speed cameras is not in the list as an option. There are a lot of other items in the list (banks, shops etc.) but I don't have most of them selected.
I am totally baffled by this I think I may remove the UK map from the SD card and reinstall it, then start again with the POI's. _________________ Holux GPSmile60

Try removing the POIs from the GB map folder (put them on to the PC, this is all files with .OV2 and its coresponding .BMP) then re-install the camera ones (if its speed zoned you should have 48 files in total to go on to the SD card 24 .OV2 and 24 .BMP, this leaves you with 15 more left to add in later if you want to) then try it again. I have seen exactly this when a mate downloaded and installed all sorts of POI's then couldn't get the cameras to go on. In the end I deleted the POI's and the cameras work - Mike |

Thanks guys, that seems to have done the trick. Removed all POI's and replaced selectively.
Does this mean that synching Checkpoint from the PDA is a bad idea then, as doing so will surely mean that all the available POI's will be downloaded?
I only ask as its a lot quicker than downloading each overlay and bmp seperately.
Thanks again _________________ Holux GPSmile60

I can't offer advice on this one as I only use TomTom's in built warning system, you can set it for double warnings by using both the single file and speed zoned and have spoken voice prompts per camera type etc.
Once you get used to the files you need from the PocketGPS database picking them out and transfering to the PDA takes less than 3 mins - (I did just this earlier today) - Mike |
