Medion 100 no sat lock

I have tomtom5 5.21 running on my medion 100. It works fine however the bar display for the signal strength does not show any satellite strength and in the cofigure screen although a number of satellite bars are shown they dont lock.
Anyone have the answer or the same problem?

Any thanks would be appreciated. ( GPS PPC beginner.)
