|
Having only last week installed TomTom Navigator 5 on my HP iPAQ and having never seen any other GPS Mapping software I wonder if some of you using other GPS mapping software could take a look and see if some streets in my locality are present.
Now these addresses/houses have been up for the last 40yrs and I don't know why they are not in Nav5.
I have checked with a few other users i.e. Navman and Autoroute 2005 where they are also missing. I believe this is because both products get their maps from the same source...Tele Atlas.
Could anyone using CoPilot...or any other common maps please check and see if these addresses are included?
Country...UK
Town...Strathaven
County...Lanarkshire
Streets...Linden Walk, Rowan Walk, Woodside Walk.
Postcode ML10 6HL
These 3 rows of houses are served by 2 lanes for rear/garage access and they both run between Hazelwood Road and Kirkhill Road.
If anyone has any theories as to why they are not included I'd be interested to hear.
I suspect I am not alone and there will be other addresses in various towns/Cities not included.
Thanks. _________________ O2 XDA Stellar, TomTom GO520 |

Are these new houses? that could be one answer, another could be the road hasn't been mapped, if you see the size of the vehicles used for recording map data they are medium sized mobile homes (on a UK based scale not USA), would this go down that route? you could always report this map fault, I find this situation arises at times, but the sat nav gets you close enough to find the address you need - Mike |

Mike, they aren't new houses. ipaqowner states that they've been there for 40 years.
ipaqowner, Autoroute data is supplied by NAVTEQ, not TeleAtlas.
Doesn't make your query any easier to explain, though. _________________ Tim |

Thanks Tim, Yes I meant NavMan...not Autoroute and yes you're right they have been here 40yrs.
I have a neighbour who works for Ordnance Survey so I'll have a word with him and see if he can shed some light on the subject. _________________ O2 XDA Stellar, TomTom GO520 |
