If I buy get some USA maps while in the states will they be compatible with my UK TomTom One if I take it over? I have a friend who says he has a set I can use while there.
Has anyone a list of SD cards that definately work with a One, as I've heard some manufacturers cards for some reason are imcompatible?

TomTom Maps are device independent. There is no such thing as a "UK TomTom One" anyhow. _________________ Lutz

Remember that his maps will need activating on your TomTomONE. You will need to take your product code card with you. |

And where in the USA do you intend to buy these maps? It's hard to use online stores when you are a tourist and have no address. Retailers selling the TTG probably won't sell the USA maps because they already come included with the unit. For example, Best Buy, one of the largest chains, sells the units but no maps.
I suggest you buy them at home before going the the USA. |

Oops! Dozy me. I just reread your post and realize that it is your friend you will buy the maps off of. This will only work if he has never activated them. And if it is YOU who activates them, then HE will be screwed in the future if he ever has to.
Otherwise, my comments still stand regarding folks going to the USA looking to buy US maps. |
