I have had a chance to try TT5 on my Aldi bought Medion 41800 and suppied Royaltek reciever
set it up as
Other Cable NME GPS
GPS baud Rate 4800
S2410 COM1
It shows "no GPS device" at the top of the screen, but the yellow and blue circle on the right is rotatiing as if it recieveing something ( which it doesnot at any of the oth settings)
How can I get this to work?

Took advise from another thread and downloaded used Leadtek's 'GPS Monitor' application (available on this site from the 'Downloads' section, ), to change the messages sent by the Royaltek GPS.
If you get the application 'talking' to the GPS and then go 'Tools - Command - NMEA', you'll be able to change what messages are sent , and how often.
I found the following to work OK:-
GGA 1 VTG 1
GLL 2 MSS 2
GSA 5
GSV 5
RMC 1
with all the User entries as 0.
Hit OK, completely exit and kill GPS Monitor, start you normal GPS application and see if you get the display you expect.
Now Working with TT5 OK - time to rob the piggy bank - where the cheapest place to get TT5?? |

gps-boj,
I don't think you did it with any bad intention, but it's considered 'bad form' to quote someone else's post (or a reply to a post) without attribution.
Apart from the last paragraph, most of your second post is a direct quotation of my response in another thread (although you did state 'Took advise from another thread ...' - Oh dear ! Is that me quoting you, now ?)
The full thread is here
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=22551&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
It's always best to do a thorough search before posting a new thread, although I'm happy that you found the information useful. _________________ Getting older and more senile by the minute !
