Hi,
Anyone know if this compact flash gps works with ipaq 2215?
Received an OEM box with no software or manual.
Any pointers to drivers or software to test with, would be greatly appreciated.
At the moment win mobile 2003 only detects it as a modem.

No, the GPS 1000 is not compatible with the iPAQ 2215, due to the PPC 2003 CF drivers. It tries to recognise the 1000 as a modem. By the sounds of things, neither HP nor Navman are going to change this. _________________ Who's Your Daddy? |

The GPS 1000 is an odd little CF card, in the fact that it can't be used on a laptop either (last I heard that was still the case). Not very compatible! |

Yep, that seems to be the case.
Although the various versions of GPSinfo I've tried, detect the 1000 card on comport 7.
Too bad the graphic display panel doesn't show any gps data coming through.
So - Would an install of win 2002 fix things?
(at least until someone updates the 2003 drivers)
Do you know if an Xscale ipaq like 2215 would have any issues running 2002?
Thanks for the quick replies.
Still waiting on a response from Navman.

You can't downgrade the ROM to Pocket PC 2002, it just won't work. You're stuck with WM2003 on the 2215. |

That's a real shame. Was hoping for some workaround to get navman working.
So, do all compact flash gps have the same problem under WM2003?
If so, seems like bluetooth gps is the way to go.
No response from Navman support yet - guess I'll be waiting a while for those drivers.

No, 99% of them work okay, just the other 1% which include Navman's GPS 1000 and TravRoute's CoPilot CF Card. |
