I'm thinking of upgrading from Navigator 3.01 to Navigator 5.

I'm just wondering - are Nav 3 maps compatible with Nav 5, or will I need to use the new maps?

And, on my PocketPC, I use Checkpoint which is configured for speedcamera alerts with audio warnings etc. - will checkpoint work immediately with Nav 5 without me having to do anything else/change any settings/install anything? It took me ages to sort all the checkpoint sounds out etc. and don't fancy doing it again after I upgrade?

On the same note, on my PocketPC (iMate Jam), will all the settings/preferences I've set for Nav 3 be applied to Nav 5 so I won't need to set all my favourites/addresses/settings up again?

Ideally I want to be able to install the Nav 5 app over my existing maps (i have Spain/France ones as well as UK) and everything will work inc. Checkpoint/audible alerts for speedcameras/settings/addresses etc. all set up for me.

Is this possible?

Be prepared to be disappointed.

TT5 is not compatible withj TT3 at all. Plus you will need a new version of Checkpoint.

As far as I know, none of the settings will trandfer across.

I wouldn't bother mate. 5 is a MASSIVE downgrade from 3.

I have gone back to 3 and am even happier with it now that I have seen what the suppossed 'improvement' is!

Total waste of space. And I think TT (who I will never purchase again) are kinda getting the feeling they have done massive damage to their business with the TT5 farce, cos they fell over themselves to give me my money back for 5 AND a discount voucher to spend with them (which I won't!)

Save yourself the hartache and distress mate, stick with 3. It was and still is toward the top of the list for nav apps IMO. Pity TT over estimated their own success and tried to get clever and ditch the people that put them at the top of that list.................US!
